Promotion Techniques

Comments Off

This article will teach you some of the best promotion techniques for getting lots of traffic to a website. First, let’s start with Google, as it’s the number one best way to get your site in front of people.

I talk more about search engine optimization in other articles, but let’s go over the basics again. There are two ways to get lots of traffic from Google, (generally speaking). You can either focus your efforts on competing for one keyword phrase with a large search volume, or you can try to get on the first page of lots of little, low competition searches.

Professional Social Promotion will teach you how to get on the first page of Google, and how to promote yourself on social sites like Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube.

Finding a Niche for Promotion

For the first one, I would suggest you do some keyword research, by taking a look at the exact match results for your keyword on the Google Adwords keyword tool, then take a look at the exact match results in Google itself.

You can do this by typing in the phrase in quotation marks. Then, if it’s not hundreds of thousands of results, you can take a look at the first page, and see what the page rank is like for the top results, and the number of quality back links leading to them.

Once you’ve found a good keyword, you can look for an exact match domain name, if there is one available, if not, (and the keyword research says it’s worth doing), find a broad match domain name, and then build your site.

I buy my domain names and hosting from Host Gator, and they have a great support team that can assist you with live chat 24 hours a day, if you haven’t yet figured out how to build your own hosted website.

I would recommend you ask them to talk you through installing WordPress on your domain, using one of the FTP clients on your control panel. Then you have your WordPress admin screen, and you’re ready to start building your site.

Site Building Techniques

Once you become accustomed to using the WordPress panel, you just need to learn a little bit of on-page optimization, like using the keywords in your title at least once in your first and last paragraphs, and perhaps in your subtitles.

Add a few photos, maybe a video, and if you did your keyword research right, or if you choose a title that you can compete for, you may get onto the first page of Google easily.

It is important to make at least a few back links to your site from article writing sites and social bookmarking sites. I talk about all of this in length in my free e-book A Beginner’s Guide to Succeeding Online, which you can get by signing up to the newsletter, along with regular helpful tips on all aspects of internet marketing, and promotion techniques.

Social promotion and internet marketing go hand in hand with SEO, and all of the other methods and techniques used to make money online. Sign up to the newsletter to learn more about these things.

Social Promotion

Once you get the hang of SEO, (which may take a while, unless you learn from a professional search engine optimization expert), then you will want to promote your site on the social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

I talk a lot more about the techniques used to promote sites on the big social networking sites on other pages, so I’ll just divert you to another page which talks about social promotion techniques, and in closing, I’ll say that there is a lot more to it than I can tell you in one or two articles, so subscribe to the newsletter, or if you prefer, you can pay for promotion of your site through the services offered on the home page. Hopefully you learned a little about promotion techniques for your site from this post.

The best way to promote your site is obviously Google, but if you have trouble doing the work needed to get your site on the first page of a popular search, you can get us to promote it for you, in a number of different ways.

Professional SEO Techniques

Professional SEO Techniques is an excerpt from my free e-book which you can get by signing up to the list on your right.

There are two parts to SEO, on-page, and off-page SEO. To begin with, you will want
a website that has a short, relevant domain name to the subject you are going to be
writing about.

Before you buy this domain name, you should do some keyword research, to find an
exact-match domain name for the title of your home page that gets a lot of traffic, and
that doesn’t have too much competition.

Some people use Market Samurai, and while I would recommend them if you’re
prepared to take the time to learn how to use it, you can also just check the search
volume for a keyword phrase on the Google keyword tool, and do a Google search on
a title you want in quotation marks, and without, to see the amount of exact match
results, and what the first page competition is like.

I use a free Firefox add-on from SEO Book to check the page rank, and I have
another piece of free software called SEO Powersuite that lets me check the back
links to those sites.

Anyway, even if you find it hard to compete for a popular title on your home page, if
the domain name is relevant to what you are writing about, you will have a better
chance in getting your specific sub-domains on the first page of Google.
Let’s just look at what I mean:

Bad: URL: slippy.com/page-1: Title: Good SEO
Good: URL: seobenefits.com/good-seo

Apart from the domain name, you will want a good host, and I buy my domain names
and hosting from Host Gator, it’s just easier to get them in the one place, and they
have a 24 hour chat support team to talk you through everything.
Once you have your domain name and hosting, you have to learn how to use
Wordpress, or some other website builder. WordPress is best.

Promotion Techniques for Your Site

It is important to know which promotion techniques to use for your site, as some of them can be expensive, or very ineffective compared to others. You could spend a lot of time doing one thing, when another works so much better.

As with advertising, the key is split testing, to understand what gets you the best value for money, or is the best use of your time. Talking of advertising, did you know that you can get one cent clicks on Google Adwords if you just use the right settings? If you have a good sales page with a good profit margin and conversion rate, then this is the best way to go.

If you want a completely free option, you can learn a bit about SEO, such as having the right keyword content on your page, and the right sort of relevant, high page rank back links from other pages. There is a lot to SEO, so I won’t go into it more here.

Another way you can get traffic to your site is by paying people a small amount to  share your site on Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, or any number of other sites. There are many places you can find these sort of outsourcing gigs, such as Fiverr, Microworkers, or Webeserve.

I myself do a lot of quick gigs on Fiverr, and you can take a look at my best selling Fiverr gigs to see if one of those might help you. Otherwise, there are a number of gigs on this site, which are pretty much the same thing, but a lot better value, as Fiverr isn’t taking their 20% cut, and I can offer better value for money, and do a professional job.

It’s not just quick social promotion gigs I can help you with, I can help you set up a profitable advertising campaign, make hundreds or even thousands of quality back links, give you SEO advice, and just generally help with every step along the way of building a website and making it successful.

Please contact me at [email protected] to discuss promotion techniques for your site, and I will do my best to help you, or just visit the home page and order a gig. You’ll still need to contact me with your site details, though.
