Since the advent of the Internet, a growing number of entrepreneurs have come out of the woodwork to claim their piece of the virtual pie.
However, most fail, because they do not take the steps necessary to achieve sufficient search engine optimization.
By following a few simple steps, anyone with the drive can achieve success in getting more attention on the web, through being found on the first page of Google.
1. Hire a Local Celebrity
So, this idea is a little out of the box, and probably not what you were expecting. Large companies have the capacity and capital to hire celebrities to endorse their products and services.
Unfortunately, new start-ups likely don’t have that capability. However, a great way to gain SEO success is to contact a local celebrity such as a news anchor to endorse you.
They bring with them a large local fan-base that can provide you with numerous hits to your site that will alert the search engines.
2. Keyword Identification
When writing content for your website, you cannot just write whatever comes to mind, especially in the title, which is the first thing Google looks at.
Most of your hits will come from people searching for your product or service on search engines, and they will type in specific words or phrases.
It takes time, but you must research the key words and phrases being used. You can do this on your own using free tools from sites like Google or hire a professional.
It is important that you pick higher traffic keywords that also aren’t too competitive. Keyword analysis is an art that takes time, but you need to do it.
3. Keywords in Titles
Once you have identified your keywords, it is important to place them naturally within your text.
If you are able to do so in context, place them as headers for new paragraphs using html headline formatting. These phrases are important, but be sure not to stuff too many keywords in, you don’t want more than 2-3% keyword density.
4. Teamwork
There are probably sites already offering your product or service. Rather than viewing them as competition, contact them and get them to link to your site.
They already have traffic, and their viewers may look to you for more information. Offering incentives such as a free sample to the website owner is a great way to make this happen.
5. Keep it Fresh
Search engines look for sites that frequently update their material. It is crucial to add fresh material using keywords frequently.
Adding a blog to your page is an easy and efficient way to keep on top of having a steady flow of new content.
Conclusion
Online success is very possible, but the entrepreneur must be prepared to dedicate time and patience toward the project.
With regular updates, lots of research, and networking, you will be on your way toward acquiring the traffic you need.

What is the Best Way to Promote Your Site?
That’s a fairly simple question to answer, but a hard one to try to achieve. Google is the main search engine, and drives the most traffic to websites daily, so it is definitely the best way to promote your site.
The problem is, there are literally millions of people competing for all the keywords with the highest search volumes, so to get a really good amount of traffic from Google, you have to be incredibly good at keyword research, and search engine optimization.
The process is not all that hard, you have to have a good website to start with, hosted on your own domain, perhaps with an exact match domain name for the keyword phrase you are trying to compete for.
I wasn’t able to find a domain name with the exact match for the search I was trying to compete for, which was social promotion, but by updating my site with quality, relevant content daily, and making gradual quality back links from many different places, I’ve so far been able to get onto page two of that search, which is pretty good for a site that’s a month old.
To do some keyword research, try typing your main keyword into the Google keyword tool, and make sure you specify exact match, and that will tell you how many people type that phrase into Google every month around the world.
You can get a pretty good idea of the amount of competition from their competition stats, but to get a better idea, type it into Google, and have a close look at the competition on the first page.
Use a rank checker like the one from SEO Book to figure out how large a page rank the first page results have, and also have a look at the amount of back links leading to them. You can do that by using online back link checkers, or by using SEO Powersuite, or SEO Quake.
Is it Hard to Promote Your Site on Google?
I don’t want to make it seem harder than it is, because when I started out with this site, (a month ago now), I never thought I had a chance of competing for a high search volume keyword like social promotion, but I’m working my way up to the first page pretty nicely, and I’m on the first page for a whole range of other smaller searches, for blog posts like this.
Apart from writing lots of good quality content every day, I made back links from a number of high page rank sites like Ezine, Go Articles, Squidoo, Hubpages, Yahoo Contributor Network, Triond, Factoidz, The Warrior Forum, DigitalPoint, Dmoz, and a few dozen other places.
The key is to steadily produce quality relevant content for your site every day, and make quality relevant back links to your site every day. That’s it. Don’t trust anyone who says that they will blast out a million blog comments, and have your site on the first page of Google overnight, cause I tried that on a test site, and got banished to the hundredth page of the SERPs.
All you really have to do, is write about a subject, and try to promote it on other sites. Don’t focus too much on SEO, because if you just learn the basics, and stick at it, you will build a good page rank just from publishing regularly.
If you have any trouble with getting on the first page of Google, the next best way is to promote on the other most visited sites in the world like Facebook, You Tube, and Twitter.
I offer a number of services on Professional Social Promotion, not just mine, but things I use that work, and I have four years of experience in all aspects of internet marketing.
That includes video production, social media marketing, SEO, traffic building, web design, original music.
I’m sure I can help you with some good advice and services, and together we can work out the best way to promote your site.
Send me an email, my contact details are to the top right under my photo. I know I can help you with whatever it is you’re trying to do online.
It is important to know which promotion techniques to use for your site, as some of them can be expensive, or very ineffective compared to others. You could spend a lot of time doing one thing, when another works so much better.
As with advertising, the key is split testing, to understand what gets you the best value for money, or is the best use of your time. Talking of advertising, did you know that you can get one cent clicks on Google Adwords if you just use the right settings? If you have a good sales page with a good profit margin and conversion rate, then this is the best way to go.
If you want a completely free option, you can learn a bit about SEO, such as having the right keyword content on your page, and the right sort of relevant, high page rank back links from other pages. There is a lot to SEO, so I won’t go into it more here.
Another way you can get traffic to your site is by paying people a small amount to share your site on Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, or any number of other sites. There are many places you can find these sort of outsourcing gigs, such as Fiverr, Microworkers, or Webeserve.
I myself do a lot of quick gigs on Fiverr, and you can take a look at my best selling Fiverr gigs to see if one of those might help you. Otherwise, there are a number of gigs on this site, which are pretty much the same thing, but a lot better value, as Fiverr isn’t taking their 20% cut, and I can offer better value for money, and do a professional job.
It’s not just quick social promotion gigs I can help you with, I can help you set up a profitable advertising campaign, make hundreds or even thousands of quality back links, give you SEO advice, and just generally help with every step along the way of building a website and making it successful.
Please contact me at [email protected] to discuss promotion techniques for your site, and I will do my best to help you, or just visit the home page and order a gig. You’ll still need to contact me with your site details, though.
There are many ways to promote your site cheaply, it’s just a matter of learning what’s out there. Before you sign up to get a Google Adwords or Facebook Ads campaign, you should be aware that you can get clicks for one cent, or even less, which is a great advantage over people paying a dollar or more per click.
There are also ways of outsourcing SEO and promotion work to people on sites like Fiverr, where you can sometimes get clicks for a fraction of a cent. Imagine you were on the first page of Google all around the world for a popular search, you would be getting thousands of hits a day, for nothing.
Here at Professional Social Promotion, we offer a range of very affordable solutions to promote your site, including article writing, social bookmarking, help with setting up an advertising campaign, or a social promotion campaign.
We can outsource the work if you’re looking to make a large order, or I can do it myself. I’m Rowan Casey, the owner of this site, and I’ve got instant access to tens of thousands of people on social sites like Facebook, Twitter, and StumbleUpon.
I can teach you how to get one cent clicks on Google Adwords, how to make a successful Facebook page, how to have good on-page and off-page SEO for your site, and I know of many cheap options for outsourcing these kind of jobs.
Get in contact with me at [email protected], or just go to the home page and order a gig. One of the best services on this site is daily scheduled tweets to a growing number of Twitter followers, which are a lot cheaper per tweet than the same price I charge on Fiverr.
You can also see my Fiverr gigs on the home page, and check out my 99% positive rating. Sign up to the newsletter to get more free info on how to promote your site cheaply, or email me, and I’ll do my best to help.
