How To Get Traffic From Social Media

Comments Off

This post will explain how to get traffic from social media sites like Facebook, Twitter,  and all the other ones.

I’ve been building my social connections, and knowledge of social media marketing for a number of years now, and while I don’t know everything, I’ve learned enough to say I’m a social media marketing expert.

How to get traffic from social media

One thing I’ve learned is not to put all your eggs in one basket. If you just concentrate on Facebook, you will only make a lot of money if you manage to make a large return on investment on a Facebook Ads campaign.

In fact, if you are trying to get traffic from Facebook in large numbers, that is really the only real way to do it, apart from SEO and viral marketing.

Let me explain what I mean. Facebook Ads can get you traffic from a lot of people by placing ads in front of them.

Google can get you traffic from a lot of people by placing your link in front of a lot of people if you can get your Facebook page to the top of a popular Google search, and that is possible.

Viral marketing is the only other real way to get a lot of traffic from Facebook, and it requires your page being so entertaining that people want to share it with their friends, or it having some sort of offer which they only get if they share the page with their friends.

I saw a scam page that was offering a hundred dollar Target gift voucher, and all you had to do to get it was like the page, then share it with your friends, and then answer a short survey.

It turned out that you couldn’t get the gift voucher no matter how hard you tried, and you had just shared the page with all of your friends for nothing.

I think it was advertising the survey site, which was a pretty sneaky, or downright nasty way to get likes on a page.

Nevertheless, it worked very well, and you can offer something for free by making it conditional of the purchase of another item, which they only see in the fine print after they like and share the page.

Get Traffic From Social Media Sites

Personally, I barely bother with trying to get traffic from Facebook, as I haven’t found that it is as effective as other sites.

I have dozens of pages, thousands of likes, and I maintain the pages and post links on them, but mainly to get back links to what I’m doing.

A lot of the pages are first on the first page of Google, for example, my Facebook page Affordable Social Media Marketing Services.

It’s actually beating the home page of this site for the same search, although that’s not a keyword phrase with a particularly large monthly search volume.

I get most of my traffic from Twitter, Linked In groups, Stumble Upon, You Tube, Google Plus, Yahoo Answers, and the Warrior Forum.

As you can see, pretty much every other social media site other than Facebook actually gives me more traffic, although I have to admit I spend more time particularly on Twitter, trying to increase my followers.

The reason is simple, I just have to click a button on Twiends, and I can get a hundred followers a day, where I can’t really do that to the same extent on Facebook, and the Edgerank algorithms make it hard to compete on people’s news feeds.

Some people say you have to get targeted likes on a page, and engage your fans, but personally, I say you have to make a Facebook welcome page that says everything you want to say straight up, and then drive traffic to it through cheap clicks on Facebook Ads.

The Best Way To Get Cheap Traffic

It’s not easy to tell you the best way to get cheap traffic to your site, because your site may require a different promotion strategy than another one, based on it’s subject matter.

Some subjects have a lot of competition on Google, and may not get a large search volume.

Some topics are well suited to social media marketing, as they have a widespread appeal, and other topics are not.

Sometimes you can make a good return on investment from pay per click advertising, and sometimes you can’t.

Based on my personal experience, I have gotten a lot of traffic from Google, then Twitter, then Linked In groups, then Stumble Upon, Google Plus, Google Adwords, and lastly Facebook and Facebook Ads.

For other people, Facebook may be their main source of traffic, it’s just a matter of whether your site has a particular appeal to regular people, or people in a targeted group.

How To Work Out the Best Way To Get Cheap Traffic

The only real way to work out the best way to get cheap traffic, or traffic that gives you a return on investment is to try out many different things, and see if it works.

You may want to buy some cheap Twitter followers, get some Facebook page likes, or you may want to focus on search engine optimization or advertising.

A good You Tube video is a good way to reach your customers, you have to try all of these things, and give it a good chance to work before you can dismiss any of these methods.

It is not easy to do all of this work by yourself, and that is why I’m offering my services on this site, doing almost anything you need to get done.

How To Get Cheap Traffic Quickly

What I am talking about in this post is how to get cheap traffic to your website quickly, through a range of different internet marketing methods.

Obviously the fastest way to get traffic to your site is with pay per click advertising on Google Adwords and Facebook Ads, although this usually costs around a dollar per click, which is quite expensive, if that traffic does not turn you a profit.

The next best way, (if you can do it), is to get on the first page of a Google search, whether it’s on the first page of a really popular search, or on a lot of different specific searches to do with your niche.

SEO and PPC have been done to death in my opinion. It’s still possible to get cheap traffic to your site through these methods, but there is so much competition that you will often end up losing money as fast as you make it.

Social media marketing is probably the best way to get cheap traffic to your site quickly, and I’ll tell you how I do it.

How I Get Cheap Traffic Quickly

My number one way of getting traffic to my site is from my Twitter followers. I get Twitter followers from Twiends, and then I tweet throughout the day to them.

You need thousands of followers for this to work effectively, as they are bought followers, and they are themselves probably following thousands of people.

It is only through sheer volume that this works at all, and it is possible to get over a thousand followers a week on Twiends.

This can take a lot of work to do, and that’s why I offer this service on Professional Social Promotion.

I will get you 1,000 Twitter followers for ten dollars, which takes many hours of work over about a week, including un-following those not following back.

You can order this service on the payment page: Get Twitter Followers Cheap.

The next best way to get traffic quickly in my opinion is Linked In. You simply join lots of groups, and share your pages (responsibly), with the thousands of people in those groups.

I like using StumbleUpon, it takes a little work, but you can get a lot of traffic on pages with a widespread appeal. The idea is you vote up the pages that people share with your toolbar, and in return they vote up yours.

I get some traffic from Google Plus, although it’s a little too early to say whether this works better or worse, and I get a little bit of traffic from my Facebook friends and my Facebook page.

I have not spent a lot of time working on Facebook, although a Facebook page is a good thing to have for many reasons including SEO, extra traffic, and social proof.

I also sell Facebook page likes for about four cents each, the payment page is: Get Facebook Page Likes.

I get some traffic from Google, although my main source of traffic is social media marketing. In my opinion, it’s the quickest, cheapest, most effective way to get traffic to your site.

Traffic From Social Sites

How to Get Traffic From Social Sites

Most of the traffic I have gotten on this site has come from social sites like Twitter, StumbleUpon, and maybe Facebook, (a little).

Google has not sent me nearly as much traffic as I would have liked, although I guess you have to expect that with a site that’s less than a couple of months old.

I’m going to have to publish a lot of posts like this one before I get on the first page of Google for a number of specific searches.

Let me just go through the traffic stats on Professional Social Promotion for the first month, so you can see what I mean.

The actual amount of hits is 19,779, with 2,196 unique visitors. I have built it up to around 200 unique visitors a day mostly from Twitter, so long as I make sure I’m tweeting a lot.

It’s important to change the messages you tweet every now and then if you want to get more hits from the same people again.

So this isn’t the exact numbers, as my Counterize plugin isn’t very good at giving referrer stats, but I’ll give you some statistics of the sites that have given me a lot of traffic.

This post goes over the traffic statistics on my site, and which sites they came from, including ones that you probably have never heard of.

Traffic Statistics on my Site

The largest referrer according to the inaccurate Counterize traffic statistics is Social Whale. I never submitted anything to the site, but they like to show which sites are getting tweeted a lot. I got 153 hits from them.

The next one is Twitter, and it says 105, but the actual number is closer to 15,000 actual hits.

longurl.org is the next one, and it says I have gotten 97 hits from them, I don’t know if that’s a URL shortener I’ve used, or if it keeps track of clicks on shortened URLs.

Next is a StumbleUpon link, a long one, probably from when I bought ten bucks worth of hits from StumbleUpon Ads. That one says 84.

Then it’s Google, with 78 hits, twitturls.com with 74 hits, HubPages with 58 hits, and Twitter again with 48, (obviously not very reliable traffic stats).

Next, it’s four long StumbleUpon URLs, probably my followers, voting my pages up from their toolbars, then it’s the Warrior Forum with 40 hits, Favit.com with 30 hits, (another site I’ve never visited before), and then about six more StumbleUpon long URLs.

Powertwitter.me got me 10 hits, and there’s a couple of other sites I’ve never heard of, but the rest is mostly hits from the Warrior Forum, and StumbleUpon.

To give you an actual breakdown of my traffic stats from social sites, I have to guess, but I’d say 50% Twitter, 20% StumbleUpon, 10% Google, 10% Things I’ve written on articles and forums, You Tube videos etc, and 10% random sites that picked up on my social site activity.

So in summary, at least 80% of my traffic is directly from social sites, or related to social sites. If you are having trouble getting traffic from Google, you might want to talk to us about cheap social promotion of your site, as that’s what we do.

We can get you traffic cheaper, that’s our motto, and you can talk to me about getting real visitors to your site from social sites at [email protected], or sign up to the newsletter, to get free internet marketing training, so you can do it all yourself.

Can social sites get you more traffic than Google? I definitely think they can, and I can show you my traffic statistics to prove it.
