Word Of Mouth Promotion

Guest post by Maria Duron

What does it take to run your own business? For the upcoming entrepreneur, there are often a lot of unexpected situations that one might not have considered when working for someone else.

These challenges aren’t there to hinder your efforts though. In fact, they are there to help you and prepare you for success in your endeavors.

Define Your Brand

The first thing that any business owner should remember is that you are representing your brand as your own. It is unique to the market because it is yours. While you may offer similar products or services, it is up to you to define it through your marketing strategies and initiate word of mouth marketing.

Stay Focused

One must also be able to focus on what’s important. You don’t have to say “yes” to everyone and everything. Perhaps the most prominent issue is that business owners consider the entire world to be their client.

But for the most part, unless you are able to do everything, you’ll only produce the wrong results. Focus on appealing to the right audience for your brand. Not everyone has to be your customer.

Perhaps one of the most difficult hurdles to get over is the fact that one cannot simply jump into the act of owning a business and expect it to work. It is practical to start by building a business model that stands and produces regular results.

What do you want to achieve? Goals? Target audiences? While jumping in can produce instant results, the continuity is what matters. Stability depends on customer loyalty. And that loyalty is derived by proving your brand’s viability and reliability.

Establish Stability

One issue that tends to prove a little overwhelming is the realization that when you run your own business, you’re in charge of everything. Start with what you know you’re good at and enforce your strengths.

Don’t try to take on everything all at once. To do this, you must be disciplined. Focus on what you know works and keep an eye out for what might work.

Remain flexible

This brings to attention perhaps the most important lesson, that the business world isn’t a solid structure. While a solid business model is essential to your success, the model must also make room for change.

The business world changes shape with each trend, new tool, and new strategy, making it difficult for any business that is set solid in their ways, to succeed.

In order to overcome this scenario, one must be able to interact with the world and test himself. If you find yourself settling into a niche, it might be time to start searching for the next trend.

The most important part of running your own business is to be flexible and adaptable. Can you change with the trend and be there to profit from it?

Running your own business is a challenge, but with the right mindset and discipline, you can build a business model that is not only solid but is solid because it can adapt to the ever-changing business world of today.

Social Network Promotion

Social network promotion is quite easy to do, it’s just a matter of how you do it, and there are many options available.

My favorite method for social promotion at the moment is tweeting to my tens of thousands of followers on Twitter, and this is how I get 90% of the traffic for my new site, while is slowly working it’s way up the first page of a Google search on social promotion.

My second favorite social network for promotion is StumbleUpon, simply because I understand how it works, I have a lot of followers who vote up my stuff, and if I make a page that has widespread appeal and can be placed in a popular category like humor, bizarre, recipes, photography, art, etc, I know it will get a lot of views from one simple share.

Facebook would have to be my third favorite social network, because you can’t make friends very quickly, and it’s not easy to make a viral page or group, so you usually need to use Facebook Ads, buy Facebook page likes, or make a ton of back links to your fan page, so it does well in a Google search.

SEO is good on social promotion sites.

Social Network Promotion Through SEO

While Facebook is the largest social networking site, and people spend four times longer on that site than any other site in the world, Google is still the number one way to drive traffic to your site, if you can do it.

I’m trying to compete for a Google search on social promotion at the moment, and I’ve written articles on HubPages, Squidoo, Factoidz, Associated Content, Ezine, Go Articles, Gather, Articlesbase, Bukisa, Knol, Blogger, Typepad, WordPress.com, Posterous, Tumblr, done forum posts, and on and on, and then made a few social bookmarking back links to those articles and blog posts to get them indexed.

Sound easy? Well it is a bit easier if you choose a more specific search, and because Facebook and You Tube already have a high page rank, you can compete on Google if you do the right things. Here’s one of my You Tube videos: Social Promotion.

You will want to get as many back links as you can within the sites as well, for example on You Tube, you should comment on high page rank channels and videos, as well as make back links from other sites to your channel and videos, and you have to publish new videos regularly as well, to get a high page rank, and thus a good ranking on Google.

The problem with all of this, is it takes months, and months, and hours and hours, if you are trying to rank for a high competition keyword. It’s great to do, if you have the patience and knowledge, (for more tips on SEO, sign up to the newsletter), but if you don’t want to wait, you might want to pay for social promotion services instead.

Professional Social Promotion, (this site), offers a range of cheap social promotion services such as over two hundred Facebook page likes for ten dollars, scheduled tweeting for a dollar a day to tens of thousands of our followers that will likely generate dozens of views a day.

The other services are listed on the home page, for example you could order one of my popular Fiverr gigs, or get me to write an article for you. Basically I’m offering my services doing any kind of social network promotion, marketing, advertising or SEO work at an affordable price, and I’m pretty good at it.

If you would like me to help you with anything at all, whether it’s social promotion, advice on setting up a cheap advertising campaign, SEO, making you a Facebook page or a You Tube video, showing you how to make a website, or whatever, just contact me at [email protected] and I’ll do my best to help, or alternatively get free internet marketing training and social network promotion tips by signing up to the newsletter.

Facebook Page Promotion

Promoting Your Facebook Page

Facebook page promotion is both easy, and hard, depending on what sort of page it is. If you have a Facebook page with a fairly widespread appeal, it may just take off by itself, as people share it with their friends.

If you make one which has a very small amount of competition for that keyword phrase, and a large search volume in a search on both Facebook and Google, then all you need to do is have some understanding of search engine optimization, and get a few Facebook page likes, and it will take off by itself.

For example, you will want to pick a title that people will search for, and have those keywords mentioned in your description, and in the info part, and in the photos, and all through the page.

Social promotion on Facebook can be very hard to do effectively, without appearing like a spammer, but it can be done.

Social Promotion on Facebook

The problem with social promotion on Facebook itself, is you don’t want to appear like you’re spamming your friends too much, or you may get your account suspended.

I usually just post in my news feed once or twice a day, if I think I have something that has a widespread appeal, otherwise it doesn’t look too good.

I use Twitter a lot more, in fact I schedule tweets many times an hour, all through the day, and this gets me a ton of traffic.

I like using StumbleUpon as well, but I still only share a few times a day to my followers on that site.

Promotion Techniques

This article will teach you some of the best promotion techniques for getting lots of traffic to a website. First, let’s start with Google, as it’s the number one best way to get your site in front of people.

I talk more about search engine optimization in other articles, but let’s go over the basics again. There are two ways to get lots of traffic from Google, (generally speaking). You can either focus your efforts on competing for one keyword phrase with a large search volume, or you can try to get on the first page of lots of little, low competition searches.

Professional Social Promotion will teach you how to get on the first page of Google, and how to promote yourself on social sites like Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube.

Finding a Niche for Promotion

For the first one, I would suggest you do some keyword research, by taking a look at the exact match results for your keyword on the Google Adwords keyword tool, then take a look at the exact match results in Google itself.

You can do this by typing in the phrase in quotation marks. Then, if it’s not hundreds of thousands of results, you can take a look at the first page, and see what the page rank is like for the top results, and the number of quality back links leading to them.

Once you’ve found a good keyword, you can look for an exact match domain name, if there is one available, if not, (and the keyword research says it’s worth doing), find a broad match domain name, and then build your site.

I buy my domain names and hosting from Host Gator, and they have a great support team that can assist you with live chat 24 hours a day, if you haven’t yet figured out how to build your own hosted website.

I would recommend you ask them to talk you through installing WordPress on your domain, using one of the FTP clients on your control panel. Then you have your WordPress admin screen, and you’re ready to start building your site.

Site Building Techniques

Once you become accustomed to using the WordPress panel, you just need to learn a little bit of on-page optimization, like using the keywords in your title at least once in your first and last paragraphs, and perhaps in your subtitles.

Add a few photos, maybe a video, and if you did your keyword research right, or if you choose a title that you can compete for, you may get onto the first page of Google easily.

It is important to make at least a few back links to your site from article writing sites and social bookmarking sites. I talk about all of this in length in my free e-book A Beginner’s Guide to Succeeding Online, which you can get by signing up to the newsletter, along with regular helpful tips on all aspects of internet marketing, and promotion techniques.

Social promotion and internet marketing go hand in hand with SEO, and all of the other methods and techniques used to make money online. Sign up to the newsletter to learn more about these things.

Social Promotion

Once you get the hang of SEO, (which may take a while, unless you learn from a professional search engine optimization expert), then you will want to promote your site on the social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

I talk a lot more about the techniques used to promote sites on the big social networking sites on other pages, so I’ll just divert you to another page which talks about social promotion techniques, and in closing, I’ll say that there is a lot more to it than I can tell you in one or two articles, so subscribe to the newsletter, or if you prefer, you can pay for promotion of your site through the services offered on the home page. Hopefully you learned a little about promotion techniques for your site from this post.

The best way to promote your site is obviously Google, but if you have trouble doing the work needed to get your site on the first page of a popular search, you can get us to promote it for you, in a number of different ways.
