Comments Off on Professional Internet Marketing Tips

Here are a few professional internet marketing tips that will help your site to do well, or show you how to make a site that does well.

Everybody usually starts with SEO, and while I do think that is very important, it can also be very time consuming, and boring.

I teach you how to do that in my free internet marketing training course, you can read my e-book to get some tips on how to do keyword research and SEO.

My favorite method of internet marketing that works almost immediately, and requires practically no skill is social promotion.

Internet marketing involves many things, like social promotion.

Internet Marketing Tips: Social Promotion

Social promotion or social marketing means getting your site in front of people on social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

My favorite site is Twitter, because it’s so easy to do. You just get a Twitter account, sign up to Twiends, and follow people to get seeds, which are good for followers of your own.

You have to unfollow the people who aren’t following back, but wait a while, and then use Tweepi to do this.

Go to the last page of the flush tool, and un-follow about a hundred a day or so, after first following a hundred a day, and leaving about a week before you do that.

Then, you can set up scheduled tweets on Twaitter, remembering not to tweet the same thing more than once every six hours, and not more than ten tweets an hour.

Set this up properly, and do it consistently, and you may have a lot more success with this sort of internet marketing than you would with Google.

That’s not to say that you shouldn’t do SEO for your site as well, but it takes a lot more work before you even start to see any results in most cases.

There is a lot of work to do in making a successful site, and if you want help with any aspect of it, get in contact with me via the home page, or if you’re happy to do it all yourself, sign up to the Professional Social Promotion newsletter to get my e-book, and a whole lot more professional internet marketing tips.

Social promotion and internet marketing go hand in hand.

Social Media Marketing Tips

This post will give you some valuable tips on social media marketing, starting with totally free methods.

Social Media Marketing on Facebook

While Facebook is the biggest of the social media sites, you cannot get a lot of traffic from Facebook quickly, easily and for free.

Why do I say that? It takes a long time to make friends on Facebook, even if you have multiple accounts, and nobody uses Facebook as a search engine, (or very few), so to get free traffic there you either need to spam people, pages or groups, or have your Facebook page found in a Google search.

It is probably easier to compete for a Google search with your actual site, unless you get a ton of likes, and other back links within Facebook and from other quality sites.

You can buy Facebook page likes on the home page, but that’s not free. The best free way to get lots of free traffic is Twitter in my opinion.

Social Media Marketing on Twitter

I get most of my traffic from Twitter, in fact if you’re reading this now, that’s probably where you came from, unless I managed to get on the first page of Google for social media marketing.

Take a look at a previous post to see what Twitter tools I use to get tens of thousands of followers, and send out tweets to them automatically.

You can buy Twitter followers, although it still takes a lot of work managing your Twitter followers because if you don’t follow back, many will eventually unfollow you.

Check out the home page to get Professional Social Promotion to set up scheduled tweets to our huge list of followers, and let us handle the hard work.

Social Media Marketing on StumbleUpon

There’s one more free social media marketing tip I can offer, and that is learn to use StumbleUpon. I have gotten hundreds of thousands of views from there, and it’s worth taking five minutes a day setting that up.

It’s a little complicated, so here is a link to an article on how to use the StumbleUpon toolbar.

I hope that these social media marketing tips were helpful, you can of course use Facebook Ads, but we can get you traffic cheaper. If you’re looking to buy something, try the social promotion services here at Professional Social Promotion first.

Social Marketing Tips From a Professional

Social marketing on sites like Facebook is both easy, and hard to do well at an affordable price. Hopefully these social marketing tips will help you to understand the process better.

There is Facebook Ads, but that costs a lot of money per click, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, the traffic will not be all that targeted.

There are many other alternatives for getting cheap traffic, such as Digg Ads, StumbleUpon Ads, getting your own Twitter followers, on a site like Twiends, or paying for people on micro job sites to share and tweet your site to their friends and followers.

By trying all of these methods, you may find that you can get targeted clicks for less than five cents, or even as low as one cent a click, which is unheard of these days.

If you want to learn social marketing tips, then this site is the place to go to learn it, as we have a free internet marketing training course.

On StumbleUpon for example, the most popular categories are humor, bizarre, and recipes, although if you think your audience is out there, then it’s worth trying to reach them through social marketing.

Professional Tips on Using WordPress

This post is called professional tips on using WordPress, but it is actually a short excerpt from my e-book, which you can get for free by signing up to the newsletter in the sidebar.

Look in plugins, and get the All in one SEO pack. Go into the settings, and add your
home page title and description, and change the first three permalink settings to
/%postname%/ only.

Then go into the settings- permalink part, and add a custom permalink:
/%postname%/.

For more detail on this, and videos of the process, you can check out where I saw it
on 1 Hour Jobs.

This is about all you have to do to have good SEO on your URLs, although there is
some debate that it’s better to have the category name as well as the postname, and
that would look like /%category%/%postname%/ or something like that.

I’m not an expert in those things, so I’d listen to the guy in 1 hour jobs. Now, you just
need to find a good WordPress template.

There are many sites like Template Monster, and dozens of website designers who
can build you a custom theme, but I’ve heard you can just use the default twenty
eleven theme, and it gives you options to add your own photos, or customise the
design in many ways.

You can always use Thesis, like that guy suggested, which has a lot of customisable
options to make many different sites. I like Canvas if you’re going to buy one.
So you have a good theme, you have good URLs, you might want to set a page
instead of a post as the home page on your site.
To do that, go to settings-reading, after making a page that will be your new home
page, and a page to move your blog page to.

You can use Filezilla, or a similar FTP client to upload html files directly to the net,
which means you can make pages on your computer, like I use Open Office
sometimes. Here’s a You Tube video of how that works: How to Publish Using
Filezilla
.

It is possible to “rip” other templates, and edit them in an html or text editor, and then
upload them directly to your server using these methods, but that is also illegal, and
don’t ask me how it works. It might be alright for very simple pages.

Professional Tips on Using WordPress has been an excerpt from my e-book A Beginner’s Guide to Succeeding Online, which you can get for free by signing up to the newsletter.

Figuring out what the demographic is of your friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter is the most important step in working out how you should market to them.
