This is a basic lesson on how to market a product on social media, and by that I’m talking about the major sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, You Tube, Stumble Upon, etc.

To start with, you have to figure out who your target audience is. If you have a product with a widespread appeal, that can be bought by anyone in the world, then you in a good position to benefit from all different types of social media marketing.

For example, you can buy random followers and likes and increase your social connections through the services I offer on this site, (see the home page). If you have a more specific audience for a product, then the first place to start would be with SEO. Trying to compete on Google for a keyword phrase that people might be searching for when looking for your product.

This can be a lot more complicated, as the algorithms Google use change all the time, and you might be better off using pay per click advertising instead.

A blog like this can be a good way to keep the website fresh, and to help the ranking of all of the pages on the site, but all of these things take a lot of time, knowledge, and sometimes money as well.

It’s a little hard to say which social media site you should focus on for business and marketing, because each one has it’s own benefits and drawbacks.

I would suggest that Facebook is good if you have some money to spend on Facebook Ads, and a product with a good profit margin.

Which social media site should you use for marketing?

It also needs to be something with a widespread appeal, and you should be able to target a group very specifically using the targeting settings on Facebook Ads.

If you don’t know how to set up a Facebook Ads campaign, I could give you some help with that, and if you’re not planning any paid advertising, then maybe Facebook won’t get you as much traffic as you thought.

Even if you manage to get a Facebook page on the first page of a popular Google search, they have just changed their policy (again), so that the timeline appears as the default landing page on business pages, rather than a specific Facebook welcome page.

Which Social Media Site Should You Use For Marketing?

There isn’t one specific plan for marketing, but if you are looking for some cheap or even free traffic, I would suggest getting some cheap Twitter followers, or you can add them yourself quickly on a site like Twiends.

I sell 1,000 followers for ten dollars, which is about three or four times less than what Twiends themselves sell the equivalent amount of points for, even in the largest package.

Twitter is probably my main source of traffic, on a par with Google  for me, depending on which site or page you’re talking about, and how often I tweet it.

It’s more simple than a lot of people think, you have to get tens of thousands of followers, and tweet links that appeal to the general population, that’s it.

The same sort of thing works with getting traffic from Linked In groups, but you can target the right people a little better.

I joined a whole bunch of groups on Linked In to do with internet marketing, social media marketing and SEO, and if I share a related page with all of these groups, I can get up to two hundred unique views in a day from a single share.

This post will explain how to get traffic from social media sites like Facebook, Twitter,  and all the other ones.

I’ve been building my social connections, and knowledge of social media marketing for a number of years now, and while I don’t know everything, I’ve learned enough to say I’m a social media marketing expert.

How to get traffic from social media

One thing I’ve learned is not to put all your eggs in one basket. If you just concentrate on Facebook, you will only make a lot of money if you manage to make a large return on investment on a Facebook Ads campaign.

In fact, if you are trying to get traffic from Facebook in large numbers, that is really the only real way to do it, apart from SEO and viral marketing.

Let me explain what I mean. Facebook Ads can get you traffic from a lot of people by placing ads in front of them.

Google can get you traffic from a lot of people by placing your link in front of a lot of people if you can get your Facebook page to the top of a popular Google search, and that is possible.

Viral marketing is the only other real way to get a lot of traffic from Facebook, and it requires your page being so entertaining that people want to share it with their friends, or it having some sort of offer which they only get if they share the page with their friends.

I saw a scam page that was offering a hundred dollar Target gift voucher, and all you had to do to get it was like the page, then share it with your friends, and then answer a short survey.

It turned out that you couldn’t get the gift voucher no matter how hard you tried, and you had just shared the page with all of your friends for nothing.

I think it was advertising the survey site, which was a pretty sneaky, or downright nasty way to get likes on a page.

Nevertheless, it worked very well, and you can offer something for free by making it conditional of the purchase of another item, which they only see in the fine print after they like and share the page.

Get Traffic From Social Media Sites

Personally, I barely bother with trying to get traffic from Facebook, as I haven’t found that it is as effective as other sites.

I have dozens of pages, thousands of likes, and I maintain the pages and post links on them, but mainly to get back links to what I’m doing.

A lot of the pages are first on the first page of Google, for example, my Facebook page Affordable Social Media Marketing Services.

It’s actually beating the home page of this site for the same search, although that’s not a keyword phrase with a particularly large monthly search volume.

I get most of my traffic from Twitter, Linked In groups, Stumble Upon, You Tube, Google Plus, Yahoo Answers, and the Warrior Forum.

As you can see, pretty much every other social media site other than Facebook actually gives me more traffic, although I have to admit I spend more time particularly on Twitter, trying to increase my followers.

The reason is simple, I just have to click a button on Twiends, and I can get a hundred followers a day, where I can’t really do that to the same extent on Facebook, and the Edgerank algorithms make it hard to compete on people’s news feeds.

Some people say you have to get targeted likes on a page, and engage your fans, but personally, I say you have to make a Facebook welcome page that says everything you want to say straight up, and then drive traffic to it through cheap clicks on Facebook Ads.

Here are a few social media tips and tricks that I have learned recently. Some of them have to do with design, some have to do with SEO, and some are just technical stuff.

I’m sure you will find something new on this page to help you boost your social media marketing efforts.

I’ll start with a simple one, or it can be simple, depending on how much customization you want to do.

If you want to make a custom Facebook page, whether you want it to be a welcome page, a shopping cart, or your whole site in a Facebook page tab, I can show you how to do it now.

The easiest way to do it is to go to a free page builder like Pagemodo, or Wix, and make a simple page.

It’s free, but you have to upgrade to remove the ads on your tab. Check out the custom tabs I made on my Facebook pages: Social Media Tricks and Social Promotion Services.

What I also did on those page was upload an html file to my server, and then I made an app in the Developers section of Facebook which points towards the URL.

That’s how you can put anything on a Facebook page for free, including your entire site, although a mini-site that fit the dimensions would be better.

More Social Media Tips

I know I’m talking a lot about Facebook, but it is the most popular social media site in the world.

Another trick I used in my pages was a redirect to a You Tube video from a tab on the page.

I used another free app called Just Redirect, which makes it easy to redirect someone to any URL when they click on the tab.

This can be useful for a number of things, such as affiliate links, or pay per action links, which may be hard to get people to click on directly.

I’ve been making You Tube videos, and a trick that I use a lot at the moment, is a free video screenshot taker called Capture Me.

I think this software is only available for a Mac, but it’s pretty good, and I use it with iMovie to mix up anything I see online into an attractive You Tube video.

I use sites like Twiends, You Like Hits, and Add Socials to get points which are good for getting likes and followers.

By the way, I sell cheap Twitter followers, Facebook page likes, Google Plus connections, and a bunch of other things to do with social media marketing and internet marketing generally.
