Social Media Marketing Tips

This post will give you some valuable tips on social media marketing, starting with totally free methods.

Social Media Marketing on Facebook

While Facebook is the biggest of the social media sites, you cannot get a lot of traffic from Facebook quickly, easily and for free.

Why do I say that? It takes a long time to make friends on Facebook, even if you have multiple accounts, and nobody uses Facebook as a search engine, (or very few), so to get free traffic there you either need to spam people, pages or groups, or have your Facebook page found in a Google search.

It is probably easier to compete for a Google search with your actual site, unless you get a ton of likes, and other back links within Facebook and from other quality sites.

You can buy Facebook page likes on the home page, but that’s not free. The best free way to get lots of free traffic is Twitter in my opinion.

Social Media Marketing on Twitter

I get most of my traffic from Twitter, in fact if you’re reading this now, that’s probably where you came from, unless I managed to get on the first page of Google for social media marketing.

Take a look at a previous post to see what Twitter tools I use to get tens of thousands of followers, and send out tweets to them automatically.

You can buy Twitter followers, although it still takes a lot of work managing your Twitter followers because if you don’t follow back, many will eventually unfollow you.

Check out the home page to get Professional Social Promotion to set up scheduled tweets to our huge list of followers, and let us handle the hard work.

Social Media Marketing on StumbleUpon

There’s one more free social media marketing tip I can offer, and that is learn to use StumbleUpon. I have gotten hundreds of thousands of views from there, and it’s worth taking five minutes a day setting that up.

It’s a little complicated, so here is a link to an article on how to use the StumbleUpon toolbar.

I hope that these social media marketing tips were helpful, you can of course use Facebook Ads, but we can get you traffic cheaper. If you’re looking to buy something, try the social promotion services here at Professional Social Promotion first.

Cheap Social Traffic

Comments Off on Cheap Social Traffic

Social trafficIf you are looking for cheap social traffic, then you’ve come to the right place, as that is what Professional Social Promotion does best.

I can share your site with all of my social connections, or get other people to tweet and share your site, and if it has widespread appeal, you will get a lot of traffic, and really cheap.

How cheap? Well, the best option is to pay for tens of thousands of your own followers, which means you then have the ability to tweet to them whenever you want.

You can pay people to like a post on your Facebook page, share the link to your site in their news feed on Facebook, you can get them to tweet your message, view your You Tube video, or a whole range of different things.

There are many options, SEO advice and content production, web design and paid posting to your account for you, and what it adds up to is cheap traffic for your site, especially when you compare it to the amount that you would usually pay on Google Adwords, or Facebook Ads.

Talk to me About Cheap Social Traffic

I’m Rowan Casey, the founder of Professional Social Promotion, and you can get in contact with me at rowan@professionalsocialpromotion.com if you want to have a social media marketing campaign set up for you.

The benefit of having lots of people tweet and share your site and having lots of followers and fans of your own to share to is not just the huge amount of cheap targeted traffic it brings to your site.

These signals are also recognised by Google, and will surely have a positive effect on your rankings.

A Facebook page or You Tube video can easily outrank a new domain created at the same time, with the same amount of back links, just by having good engagement signals, like a large amount of likes.

Cheap social traffic from the right sources can be just what you need to turn your business around, so long as your product has a widespread appeal to the general population.

Even if it doesn’t, you can still get good results through choosing titles for your pages and profiles that have exact match search volume, and then using standard SEO techniques to rank them well on Google.

If you have any questions about the process, or want to find out more about any of the services I’ve discussed on this page, get in touch via the contact page, or the email address in the sidebar.

Social Media Optimization

Social Media Optimization

Social Media Optimization or SMO is about preparing your product, sales pitch, and pages for the social networking sites, and reaching the right people on Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, MySpace, StumbleUpon, etc, in large numbers.

The first thing you need is a good product, so let’s say you have something with widespread appeal, like a weight loss product. Not what I would pick, but it does have a large audience worldwide.

You have to think of a way to make it fun, and not seem like spam when people see it. People know the difference between an ad, and a friend sharing something because they liked it, or thought it was worthwhile.

Now in my opinion, the best way to go would be to make a viral You Tube video, incredibly funny, not mainly as an ad, but as a funny video.

SMO is about understanding what ordinary people like to share with their friends on social media sites like Facebook.

Social Media Optimization of a Product

Have a really fat person eating, with chicken juices running down their chin, and make a joke, like they explode, and fat goes everywhere, then have the ad at the end.

This is how you make a video that people will share with each other because they like it, and then it can go viral, and get millions of hits on You Tube, and you have a link in the description.

A good example of this is a viral video ad for Old Spice, which I just posted on my blog Video Mobster. It’s had over 30 million views, and rising every day. I called it Smells Like Old Spice.

A very good example of how much more people pay attention to your product if you have something interesting with it.

Maybe it didn’t increase sales of Old Spice that much, but if  0.01% of the people who saw it bought a bottle of Old Spice, then that’s almost a million dollars right there.

Maybe they bought two, or switched brands permanently, so you can see how effective this type of viral ad can be.

Social Media Optimization is either about reaching people on social networks cheaply, (which is what we do here at Professional Social Promotion, get in touch via the home page), or reaching them effectively, so that the video or ad you’re sharing goes viral.

The benefits of social media optimization are clear, you get your site seen by lots of people on the social networking sites, where they are most at home.

She Told Me Now Charges for Social Bookmarking

She Told Me Charges for Social Bookmarking

The guy at She Told Me is James Colin, and he’s made a change to his site She Told Me, in which everyone now has to pay to post social bookmarking links there.

There was an exemption offered for people who had posted more than seventy times, so I sent him an email, expecting to get an exemption, and the bastard canceled my account, and all the social bookmarking links I had made over two years.

I think that’s a little harsh for what I said to him in the email, you tell me:

Me: This is the first I’ve heard about having to pay to post bookmarks here. I’ve been on the site for a long time, and posted a lot of bookmarks. You probably advertise on them, so I shouldn’t have to pay.

James Colin: So now you want to tell me what I should do? Mind your own business, I owe you nothing. Cheers, James.

James Colin: I’m fed up with people like you who are not happy about the change.

Well I offered free membership for people with more than 70 articles,

you qualify, so why do you feel like talking to me about anything

else, honestly I’m not taking it and you can go elsewhere honestly I

don’t care. I deleted your content so you won’t say I’m stealing any

of this. It’s better this way.

Whatever you feel like replying, you don’t need to, I know it will be

about some insults, what do I care? nothing.

Cheers,

James

Now I had hundreds or even thousands of social bookmarking links on the site, and I’m sure that they made this guy some money, or contributed to the popularity and page rank of the site, along with everyone else that posted there.

I made back links to the back links I had made, so I literally did SEO work for him, as well as myself at the same time.

In one second, he took away hours of work, and removed permanent back links that had an effect on the ranking of my articles and blogs going back years.

He has a new site called Best Reviewer. I’d advise you to steer clear of it, and don’t pay this bastard a cent, cause he is completely untrustworthy.

If a social bookmarking site like Digg, or StumbleUpon can make millions of dollars from a similar thing, and not have mandatory charges, then why couldn’t he make some money from She Told Me? Cause he’s an idiot, and not a very nice guy.

I really hate the guy at She Told Me, he removed all of the hours of work I had done by canceling my account.
